Webber’s bowling program was introduced in the season of 08/09, starting with a men’s team only. The Warriors achieved early success through finishing third in national competition during their first year. This season sees the start of the female program which certainly has the potential to be just as successful. But why is Webber influencing many of the world’s top young bowlers to take part in this program? One reason; Kegel!

Webber Bowling: A Growing Success

Kegel is home to the Warriors bowling teams, and is regarded as the best training facility in the world. The name Kegel is instantly recognized by bowlers and fans across the globe; hence Webber possesses a huge amount of drawing power with their program. Kegel was formed in 1981 by John Davis, Linda Davis, Mark Davis, and David Jennings. Their mission is and was to “Research the problems that exist in the bowling industry, develop a product or service to solve that problem, and make sure to support the customer with the highest of standards.” John Davis, who remains the CEO to this day, opened his first public bowling center in Sebring, Florida, back in ’97. The center was initially open to the public before becoming a training center. The center was then re-opened to the public as John’s new training center was built in Lake Wales, in 2003.
