Texas A&M’s Baylor College of Dentistry offers a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in dental hygiene. The college also offers a master’s degree in oral biology. A doctorate degree is available in dental surgery. Dental hygiene programs cover dental anatomy, biomedical sciences, oral radiology, medical emergencies and pharmacology. Typically it takes four years to complete the Bachelor degree. Areas covered in the master’s degree oral biology program include biomaterials science, dental hygiene, physical growth and maturation, advanced oral pathology, immunology, applied biostatics and advanced dental materials.

Master’s degree programs can be completed in two years. Students who enroll in the dental surgery program will study various areas including applied medical physiology, operative dentistry, cellular and molecular biology of oral and craniofacial tissues, conscious sedation and practice management. It typically takes three years to complete the doctorate degree program. Financial assistance is available in the form of scholarships, grants and student loans. Texas A&M’s Baylor College of Dentistry is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
